Messages Tab

Messages screen displays a grid with all of the messages received by user, and as well as relevant message details.

Each message contains the following information:

  • Date & Time: Time and date of the messages received
  • Source: Name of the device/device group/semantic and sensor/actuator/alarm that sent the message
  • Level: Type of message (each type marked with the appropriate symbol)
  • Message: Contents of the message itself
  • Actions - Mark the message as read

Mark Messages as Read

To mark messages as read:

  • Click on next to the message you want to mark as read

The icon will be unbolded, and you will receive a notification Message(s) successfully marked as read at the bottom of the screen.

You can bulk mark messages as read by doing the following:

  • Select the messages you want to mark as read manually or by checking the checkbox in the top left corner of the grid in order to mark all messages that are displayed on the screen.

Note: You can also select all of the messages, including those that aren’t displayed on the screen, by clicking on the Select all button

  • Click on in the top left corner of the grid

The messages you have selected have been successfully marked as read.

Filter Messages

You can also filter messages on the Platform according to several different criteria, which include:

  • Message State - All or Unread
  • Message Level - Info, Warning, and Alarm
  • From and To Date Fields - Filter received messages according to date
  • Search - Search messages by entering their source, message, or description

Filter Messages by State

To filter messages according to state:

  • Find the Message State field
  • Click on the drop-down arrow
  • Choose to display all or just unread messages
  • Click on Apply Filter
  • Filtered messages will be displayed on the screen

Filter Messages by Level

To filter messages by their level and on the messages screen:

  • Find the Message Level field
  • Click on the drop-down arrow
  • List of message types (Warning, Info, Alarm) will open

  • Select All or one of three message levels
  • Click on Apply Filter
  • Filtered messages will be displayed on the screen

If you select:

  • Warning - all warnings you have received will be presented in the list, with the appropriate symbol displayed in the message level column
  • Info - all info you have received will be presented in the list, with the appropriate symbol displayed in the message level column
  • Alarm - all the alarms you have received will be presented in the list, with the appropriate symbol displayed in the message level column

Filter Messages by Date

To filter messages by date using the From/To date picker field:

  • Find the From and To date picker fields
  • Click on a drop-down arrow
  • A calendar will open

  • Choose exact dates (from/to) of the messages you would like to be displayed
  • Click on Apply Filter
  • Filtered messages will be displayed on the screen

Filter Messages by Source

Search bar searches through the messages by their sources/devices/device groups/semantic groups (e.g. living room, elevator), message text, and descriptions (e.g. high temperature, humidity…).

To search messages by source:

  • Enter source name, message, or description
  • Click on Apply Filter
  • Filtered messages will be displayed on the screen

Alarm Notifications

Alarm Notifications are displayed at the top right of the screen under the notification bell button :

To manage alarm notifications:

  • Click the Alarms notification bell
  • Drop-down menu will appear with a list of the last three alarm notifications you have not read

Each notification in the list contains notification text, name of the semantic (sub)group/feed that triggered the alarm, symbol for severity level, and time and date when the alarm was triggered.

To view the list of all alarms, click on All Alarms.

To directly go to the Messages module from another module in the application, click the Go to messages hyperlink at the bottom of the Alarm drop-down menu.
