Create/Edit/Delete Semantic Group Data

Semantic group data includes all the data you can have within one semantic group: semantic subgroups and attributes, (calculated) feeds, actuators, alarms.

Create Semantic Group Data

Create Semantic Subgroups

Subgroup in the Data Semantics module represents a semantic group (child) in an already existing semantic group (parent). You can add a multiple number of (child) semantic subgroups in one parent group and/or multiple levels of (child) semantic subgroups.

To create semantic subgroup:

  • In the Data Semantics tab go to (parent) semantic group you have previously created

  • Click the Create group button
  • Choose Create (sub)group from a drop-down menu

  • Create semantic group screen will appear
  • Enter the data needed
  • Click Save to finalise the process
  • This semantic subgroup (child) will appear in the (parent) group you have created it in

Create Feed

For more information on the Create feed option, go to the Create/Edit/Delete Feed section of this guide.

Create Calculated Feed

For more information on the Create calculated feed option, go to the Calculated Feed section of this guide.

For more information on how to add attributes/feeds/actuators/alarms in a semantic group, go to Create/Modify/Delete Semantic Groups section of this guide.

Note: Each feed/actuator/alarm displayed in a semantic group is presented in form of a card with its name, graphic representation of feed/actuator/alarm in question and the info if the source (feed/actuator/alarm comes from) is active, inactive or removed.

Edit Semantic Group Data

To edit the data (attribute/feed/actuator/alarm) within one semantic group click on the data you would like to edit.

If it is feed:

  • Click on feed
  • New window will appear with Feed details and Feed thresholds fields

  • You can edit feed’s details and thresholds
  • Click Save to confirm the action

If it is actuator:

  • Click on actuator
  • New Edit dialog will appear

  • Edit actuator name

and/or

  • Clickand move it to another semantic group
  • New dialog will appear with the list of all the semantic groups you have created/have the access to

  • Choose the semantic (sub)group
  • Click Save to confirm the action

If it is alarm (made on a physical device (hardware)):

  • Click on alarm you would like to edit
  • New Edit dialog will appear

  • Edit alarm’s name

and/or

  • Clickand move it to another semantic group
  • Follow the steps previously described for moving actuator to another semantic (sub)group
  • Click Save to confirm the action

MOVE TO Option

Apart from text fields, there is also MOVE TO option which allows you to move the semantic (sub)group (with its data) to another (sub)semantic group. To do so:

  • Click the MOVE TO button at the top of the screen

  • Follow the steps previously described for moving actuator/alarm to another semantic (sub)group
  • Click Save to complete the action

Delete Semantic Group Data

To delete data within a semantic group:

  • Click the Delete button on feed/actuator/alarm card

  • New dialog will appear requiring you to confirm the action

  • Click Delete
  • Feed/actuator/alarm will be deleted from the semantic group you are currently modifying, but will, however remain in the default mapping section
