Where can I find more technical information? There is a ton of tech information available! You can find all detailed technical documentation, including open APIs, libraries, SDKs and much more, in our Developer centre. In case you get stuck trying to connect your devices to the Platform, or just want to keep track of all the functionalities you need to build your connected solution feel free to dive in our comprehensive user guides or check out our YouTube channel. Be sure to check out our Hackster profile for different projects that we’ve created.
Where is WolkConnector SDK?WolkConnector is an open-source device SDK incorporated into the device firmware to make it compatible with WolkAbout IoT Platform. It is responsible for handling the communications and normalising data. The available implementations include C, C++, Python, MicroPython, Java, Node-RED, Zerynth, Arduino, and more. For more details visit our Developer centre.
What is WolkGateway SDK?WolkGateway supports connecting devices indirectly via gateways. It allows both telemetry ingestion and control messages, as well as data buffering. WolkGateway modules can talk to non-IP-enabled devices via their supported network communication protocols, such as Bluetooth, Z-Wave, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, and more. For more details visit our Developer centre.
Which libraries are available for connecting devices to WolkAbout IoT Platform?Currently available WolkConnector libraries are C, C++, Python, MicroPython, Java, Node-RED and Arduino.
All of our libraries are Open Source and hosted on Github so that you can use, contribute, and request features on them easily and at no cost.
Additionally, we have a library for Zerynth.
If you have a project that requires support for additional languages, please contact us.
Do you have any SDK which can help us in developing custom apps?WolkWeb SDK for Angular enables you to develop your custom web applications on top of our Platform, communicate through our APIs and exploit WolkModular - a reusable module that provides a layout where multiple independent applications can be hosted. The Mobile SDK is in our roadmap.
I developed a cool app and I want to store data in WolkAbout IoT Platform, but it's not a physical device. Can I still use WolkAbout IoT Platform?Yes! WolkAbout IoT Platform defines as ‘device’ any source of data. It can be an actual device, such as Raspberry Pi, or a service that wants to store your data to make it available to you and other services.
