Connect Your Devices to WolkAbout IoT Platform Using MicroPython

MicroPython is a lean and efficient implementation of the Python 3 programming language that includes a small subset of the Python standard library and is optimised to run on microcontrollers and in constrained environments.

MicroPython is a full Python compiler and runtime that runs on the bare metal. It provides you with an interactive prompt (the REPL) that allows you to execute commands immediately, along with the ability to run and import scripts from the built-in filesystem. In addition to implementing a selection of core Python libraries, MicroPython includes modules such as “machine” for accessing low-level hardware.

All these features make an excellent platform for developing IoT projects, which is why WolkAbout developed WolkConnect-MicroPython to enable cloud connectivity further.

MicroPython ports are available for popular devices such as various ESP8266 and ESP32 based boards, Texas Instruments’ CC3200-LAUNCHXL, as well as all the devices offered by Pycom.
